Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Gujarat Titans by five wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday to retain the Indian Premier League title.
Virat Kohli led the chase with an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls as Bengaluru reached 156 in 18 overs. His innings included three sixes and nine fours.
Bengaluru, who won their maiden IPL title last season after a 17-year wait, stayed in control throughout the chase. Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer, who scored 32 off 16 balls, helped the team reach 70-2 in the powerplay.
Gujarat Titans, sent in to bat, managed 155-8 after losing Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan inside the powerplay. The early wickets left them struggling at 45-2.
Washington Sundar made an unbeaten 50 off 37 balls for Gujarat. However, he lacked support as the innings failed to build momentum.
Bengaluru’s bowlers kept pressure on Gujarat, with none conceding more than 10 runs an over. Rasikh Dar took three wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood claimed two each.

Kohli also brought up his fastest IPL fifty during the chase. The innings took his IPL record to 68 half-centuries and nine hundreds.
