Pervez Rathore has decided to challenge the court decision of his suspension as the Acting Chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in Supreme Court.
The counsel of Acting Chairman Pemra Rathore and member Kamaluddin Tipu informed the court that the petitioners want to challenge the court decision in Supreme Court, on which the bench dismissed their petitions.
A bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) had suspended the notification of appointment of Pervaiz Rathore and Kamaluddin Tipu.
The court in its detailed judgment said that the bench had ordered the Acting Chairman to stop working as the head of Pemra but he violated the court order and thus committed contempt of the court.
