DOHA, Qatar: Qatar’s prime minister met U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Doha to discuss U.S.-Iran negotiations, regional security and Lebanon’s ceasefire on June 30, according to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani reviewed developments under a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
The ministry said the talks also covered broader diplomatic efforts to strengthen regional security and stability through dialogue. The meeting reviewed developments in the Middle East, with particular focus on preserving the ceasefire in Lebanon.
Both sides stressed the need to build on the truce in a way that safeguards Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty and stability, according to the ministry.

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar’s mediation role and said Doha would continue supporting negotiation tracks arising from the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding.
The U.S. envoys expressed Washington’s appreciation for Qatar’s mediation efforts, carried out in partnership with Pakistan, in facilitating the negotiations.
They also reiterated the United States’ commitment to continuing the diplomatic process and supporting efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement.
