The motive behind Gadani’s murder remains unclear, and the prime suspect is currently undergoing interrogation. During the raid, police also seized a motorcycle believed to be used in the crime, along with some cash and a mobile phone found in the suspect’s possession.
Sindh Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Lanjar praised the efforts of SSP Ghotki and his team for the significant arrest made in Mirpur Mathelo, part of the district. Lanjar confirmed ongoing raids to capture other individuals linked to this grave crime.
Lanjar also highlighted the use of modern technology by the police to track and arrest the suspect. He noted that the provincial government prioritises law and order by enhancing police resources.
Journalist Nasrullah Gadani, who worked for a Sindhi newspaper, was critically injured by gunfire from motorcycle-riding assailants near Korai Goth, located 12 kilometres from Mirpur Mathelo, on May 21.
At the time of the attack, Gadani was riding his motorcycle. He was quickly taken to Civil Hospital Mirpur Mathelo for emergency care and later transferred to Rahim Yar Khan for surgery. Subsequently, he was moved to Karachi via air ambulance, with the Sindh government covering all medical expenses. Despite these efforts, Gadani succumbed to his injuries three days later.
