President Mamnoon Hussain has emphasized the need for improvement in quality as well as the standard of health services related to coronary diseases in the country.
The President said this while talking to Maj. Gen (r) Masud-ur-Rehman Kiani, Chairman Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH), who called on him along with a delegation of PANAH Trust here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
The President urged to create awareness among the general public about risks to heart diseases and stated that more deliberate and planned efforts should be made to achieve the stated objectives.
He appreciated PANAH´s plan to establish a state of the art general hospital for public and assured of his support in completion of the project.
He advised Chairman PANAH to approach Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in requesting the private media to air public service messages to create awareness and educate the public for prevention of heart diseases.
Chairman PANAH Maj. Gen (r) Masud-ur-Rehman Kiani briefed the President about the activities of his organization in the service of humanity.
The President appreciated the efforts of PANAH to prevent, minimize and control heart related diseases.
