Punjab Law Minister, Rana Mashhood, has claimed that terrorists killed and captured by security forces in Raiwind wanted to target Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s residence.
The minister expressed fear that the country might face reaction of ongoing military operation in North Waziristan.
“We must save our villages and cities where we can face a possible backlash of the military operation. But the Prime Minister has taken a principle stand to get people rid of terrorism,” he said.
Earlier, police Elite Force and security forces completed the operation successfully and took over a compound occupied by two terrorists in a small village in Raiwind town near Lahore , 2.5 kilometres from PM’s residence.
There were only two terrorists inside the house. One of them has been killed in the action while another captured in injured condition.
Religious literature, detonators, sub-machine guns (SMGs), explosives and two motorbikes have been recovered from the house when troops thoroughly searched it.
The terrorist killed in the action was identified as Mehboob, hailing from Okara town of Punjab.
