Islamabad, Pakistan: PMD monsoon rainfall is expected across several parts of Pakistan from July 1 to 6. Urban flooding is possible in low-lying cities, the Met Office said.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department said a westerly weather system was likely to enter the country. This is expected to happen on the evening or night of June 30.
It said moist winds from the Arabian Sea would affect eastern and central Pakistan. Humid air from the Bay of Bengal may also reach the upper parts of the country from July 2.
PMD forecast rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from July 1 to 6.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan may receive rain from July 1 to 5, the Met Office said. The northern and northeastern districts of Balochistan may receive rainfall from July 1 to 4.
In Sindh, PMD forecast rain in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Larkana and nearby districts on July 3 and 4. PMD had not forecast rain for Karachi in the spell.
PMD warned that heavy rain could cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Nowshera and Faisalabad. This risk is present from July 1 to 4.

The Met Office also warned of landslides and flash flooding in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from July 2 to 6.
Authorities advised people to avoid weak structures, electricity poles and billboards during heavy rain and strong winds.
