Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif  on Thursday assured the Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa that the military’s reservations over the Dawn Leaks notification would be addressed.

The tension between civil and military grew further after DG ISPR Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor rejected a government’s notification about the leaks on Twitter.

According to sources, PM Nawaz and Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif in meeting with the Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the PM House on Thursday has assured that all reservations of military on Dawn Leaks would be addressed and a fresh notification would be issued.

On April 29, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the inquiry committee’s recommendation to remove PM’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and Principal Information Officer Rao Tehsin Ali Khan from their posts due to their alleged role in the controversy.

However, civil-military tensions soared after Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Asif Ghafoor, in a tweet rejected the inquiry committee’s report.
