The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) lets citizens apply online to replace lost or damaged Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) through its PakID mobile app.
PakID is available on Android and iOS. Its reprint service allows applicants to submit replacement requests from home.
Applicants can begin the process in five steps:
- Open PakID and select “ID Documents” on the home screen.
- Choose “ID Card”.
- On the next screen, select the applicant who needs the replacement.
- Choose “Reprint”.
- Follow the app’s instructions to complete the remaining application stages.
NADRA’s detailed reprint guide covers photograph and fingerprint capture. Applicants should follow the on-screen prompts, use adequate lighting and keep the phone steady during photograph capture.
At the payment stage, NADRA accepts Visa and Mastercard debit or credit cards, as well as Raast payments. Applicants can tap “Pay Now” next to their tracking ID in the app’s inbox.

Users can monitor their application’s progress through PakID’s dashboard. NADRA’s fee notice says processing timelines start after payment. Its published schedule lists a domestic identity-card delivery charge of PKR 165/-.
Renewal and modification appear as separate application categories. Applicants with expired cards should select renewal when they need to replace their identity document.
First-time CNIC applications follow a different process. A blood relative can initiate the application through their PakID account. NADRA requires both people to visit a registration centre to complete it.
For assistance with applications, applicants can contact NADRA on 1777 or +92 51 111 786 100.
