The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif has refused to step down from his post as demanded by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

As the political temperature reached its peak in the federal capital, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired an important meeting of his advisers and members of the federal cabinet here on Tuesday evening. The meeting held detailed consultation over the “Inqilabi” and “Azadi” Marches being run by Tahir-ul-Qadri and Imran Khan respectively  and the situation arising from these.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister quashed any rumors about stepping down from his post, while the attendees said that the government should complete its constitutional tenure.

They also said that there is no question of mid-term elections in the country and the agitating forces will be disappointed.

On the other hand, workers and supporters of both PTI and PAT are heading towards the Parliament House, during which a clash took place between the police and PTI workers at Sarena Chowk.

Policemen present there baton charged the PTI workers to disperse them; however no losses were reported during the episode. The clash faded away as both the sides acted maturely, while some senior PTI members called back the ones involved in the scuffle with the police.

Meanwhile, Islamabad administration has said that it was not provided any written orders by the government to prevent the advancing marchers and advised the officials and personnel to not resist the people, without the orders of a judicial magistrate.
