Peshawar Electric Supply Company has introduced a PESCO QR code facility on electricity bills. This allows consumers to pay their bills online from home, a spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said power companies had printed QR codes on electricity bills to improve customer convenience and streamline the payment process.
The spokesperson advised consumers to verify their name and address on the bill before scanning the QR code to avoid payment errors.
The facility follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s March directive to government institutions to place QR codes on all bills. This aims to provide public convenience.
The prime minister issued the directive while chairing a review meeting in Islamabad on promoting a cashless economy.
