The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has taken notice of the illegal closure and disruption of television channels.
PEMRA has directed cable operators to refrain from the illegal closure of channels and abide by laws and licensing process of the regulatory body.
According to PEMRA disciplinary proceedings can be initiated against those cable operators who are found to be violating laws. These proceedings may lead to a large fine or the license of the cable operator being suspended.
