Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) earlier today passed a unanimous resolution, condemning the ‘unlawful action’ of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in suspending ARY News’s broadcasting license.
In a press statement issued, PBA also deplored the “heavy fine” handed down to ARY.
The PBA also demanded immediate restoration of ARY News and withdrawal of PEMRA’s orders which PBA claimed were illigal.
It noted that this action was taken by PEMRA with malafide intent.
However, the PBA resolution was silent regarding Geo’s suspension.
