Islamabad, Pakistan: The federal government has decided to launch a passport home delivery service for citizens, with new standard operating procedures finalised for doorstep delivery nationwide.
The decision came during a meeting chaired by Director General of Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa in Islamabad, where officials reviewed progress on the designated digital app.
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports plans to launch the service first within Pakistan and later extend it to overseas Pakistanis. Applicants may receive passports at their addresses after paying nominal courier charges.
Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa has also announced that applicants will start receiving passports at home from July 1 under an upgraded delivery system.
The service follows earlier passport reforms approved in an April 30 meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry. Officials said the delivery period for normal passports had been reduced from 21 days to 14 days.

The federal government also decided to introduce a fully cashless system across passport offices. Radio Pakistan reported that Mohsin Naqvi said ending cash payments would curb middlemen and make the process easier for citizens.
Officials also reviewed the proposed Business Passport category and the establishment of a dedicated Passport Authority to improve institutional capacity and service delivery.
