Pakistan has deployed about 8,000 troops, JF-17 fighter jets, and an air defence system to Saudi Arabia, Reuters reported on May 18.
The force includes around 16 JF-17 aircraft, two drone squadrons and a Chinese HQ-9 air defence system, according to Reuters. Pakistani personnel operate the equipment, while Saudi Arabia finances the deployment.
Three security officials and two government sources told Reuters the force could help defend Saudi Arabia if it faces further attacks.
Pakistan’s military, foreign office and Saudi government media office did not respond to Reuters requests for comment.
