Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced on Sunday that the upcoming 2025-26 federal budget aims to lighten the financial load on salaried individuals.
Speaking at the Unified Marathon in Lahore, hosted by Special Olympics Pakistan, he shared positive updates on the economy.
Aurangzeb revealed that budget planning has begun, with input from the business community. “We’re collaborating with businesses to shape this year’s budget,” he said. He stressed the private sector’s vital role, adding, “While the government sets the stage, progress depends on private enterprise.”

The minister highlighted a stable economy moving toward growth. “The stock market is thriving, the currency holds steady, and foreign reserves are up,” he noted. Reforms at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) aim to boost tax compliance, support manufacturing, and relieve salaried workers.
