Pakistan rejected Afghan Taliban claims of cross-border drone strikes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan on Friday, and air defences neutralised a rudimentary drone that entered Pakistani airspace.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said on its Fact Checker account that Kabul’s claim of targeting alleged Daesh camps inside Pakistan was “false as usual.”
The ministry said the drone entered the Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It was shot down by the Pakistan Air Force’s air defence system.

The Taliban government’s defence ministry claimed in a post on X that Afghan forces had targeted hideouts in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces on Thursday night.
Pakistan’s information ministry said terrorist camps, including those linked to Daesh and more than two dozen other organisations, were operating from territory controlled by the Afghan Taliban regime. Moreover, it accused Kabul of using such statements to cover up its “patronisation of terrorism.”
The ministry also named Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan among groups it said were being used to wage terrorism in neighbouring countries.

Pakistan has reported a rise in militant attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
Islamabad has repeatedly accused Afghan authorities of failing to act against militant sanctuaries, a charge Kabul denies.
