Pakistan’s military neutralised 25 Israeli-made and Indian Harop drones across Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Attock, Bahawalpur, and Karachi on Thursday, reporting one civilian martyred and four troops injured. Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that its forces shot down 25 Israeli-made Harop drones deployed by India in attacks targeting Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Attock, Bahawalpur, and Karachi, as reported by Reuters.
ISPR Director-General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated, “India has committed another act of aggression by sending drones.” He noted that one civilian was killed and another injured in the Miano area of Sindh, as well as four soldiers wounded, along with minor damage to military sites. Chaudhry added that operations to neutralise threats are ongoing.
Crowds gathered at dawn to view drone debris in Punjab and Sindh, with images circulating on X showing scattered wreckage. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) extended closures of Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot airports until 6:00 PM, disrupting 57 international flights. The attacks follow India’s May 6 airstrikes, which killed 31 civilians, prompting Pakistan to down five Indian jets.
