The Pakistan Navy’s Director General Public Relations (DGPR) announced that it completed a test flight of an indigenously developed ship-launched ballistic missile.
The press release stated that this missile, with a 350-kilometer range, can precisely strike both land and sea targets.
The missile features an advanced navigation system and enhanced manoeuvrability.
“The test flight drew an audience that included the Chief of the Naval Staff, senior navy officers, and the scientists and engineers who developed the missile,” reported the DGPR.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), and the service chiefs congratulated the scientists and engineers on their achievements in today’s missile test.
Previously, in July, the Pakistan Navy successfully launched surface-to-air FN-6 missiles using its ground-based air defense system.
According to a statement, the demonstration showcased the effective engagement of airborne targets by the navy’s air defense system.
In addition to its national defense duties, the Pakistan Navy contributes to regional security. In May, it stationed its warship PNS ASLAT in the Indian Ocean to protect merchant ships, underscoring its commitment to maritime security.
