Minister of State for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, recently announced a significant increase in IT export remittances, which reached $286 million in the first month of the fiscal year.
During the same period, the notable 33.64% rise from the previous year’s $214 million underscores the government’s efforts to enhance the IT sector’s output.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is keenly focused on developing this sector, the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication is actively working to amplify Pakistan’s position in the global IT market. Collaborative initiatives with the Pakistan Software Export Board and support from the Special Initiative Facilitation and Fostering Capacities (SIFFC) have been pivotal in driving these results.

Minister Khawaja emphasized the strategic measures undertaken to sustain and further boost IT exports. The surge in IT remittances reflects the potential of Pakistan’s IT industry and the government’s commitment to harnessing and expanding digital capabilities for economic growth.
