Separately, ISPR confirmed that security forces killed 22 militants linked to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij, during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Troops engaged the militants in a prolonged exchange of fire after receiving intelligence reports of their presence, the military said. During the operation, militants opened indiscriminate fire, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old child.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site, and the slain militants were suspected of involvement in recent attacks in the region, ISPR added. In a separate operation in Lakki Marwat, security forces killed five militants described by officials as belonging to “Fitna al-Hindustan”
