The Fazaia Housing Scheme was officially launched in Karachi on 14th march. it is a project of the Pakistan Air Force.(PAF)
Previously PAF had launched its housing schemes in Lahore, Islamabad and Gujranwala. Since the response was quote promising, PAF decided to launch the same in the country’s lone mega city of Karachi.
Agents and dealers have been booking forms of 2 and 3 bed apartment by following the pattern of Bahria Town.The form of fazaia housing scheme is already being black marketed. A form worth Rs. 1000 is being sold by some unscrupulous dealers at the price of Rs. 10,000.
Dealers of this scheme are reported to tale take cash payments and give receipt on their letter pad in effect, trying to create an artificial shortage.
The Fazaia Housing Society is supposed to consist of two and three bedroom apartments.
Judging by the huge turn out for the forms, the scheme seems to be a mega hit, since on 14th march when it was announced. the queues were so long they managed to block Sharah-Faisal, karachi’s main artery.
Even today the rush has hardly abated and as the day is passing the lines are only getting longer.
