WASHINGTON: Washingtonian magazine included White House aide Natalie Harp in its biennial list of 300 powerful women, featuring her photograph in the national politics section.
The magazine released the list on Wednesday. Harp, 35, was the only woman in that section shown with a photograph. First Lady Melania Trump, Second Lady Usha Vance and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles appeared without one.
The selection drew criticism and support from commenters on the magazine’s Instagram page. Some questioned Harp’s inclusion alongside lawmakers and business leaders; others defended the magazine’s decision to recognise women with different political views.
Washingtonian said it included women across the political spectrum and aimed to highlight those wielding power, not judge their accomplishments.
