OnlyFans creator Sophie Rain challenged actor and comedian Pete Davidson to try influencer work after he mocked creators who earn millions.
Rain, 22, told the New York Post that “if it’s really that easy, he should go do it”. Her comments appeared in an interview published on Saturday.
Davidson made his remarks in Variety’s “Ask a Local” interview on YouTube. He questioned how women posting online could make $40 million a year while doing what he described as “nothing”.
Davidson did not identify Rain in his remarks.
She interpreted the comments as directed at her and other successful women on OnlyFans. Rain argued that Davidson should identify the people he meant rather than generalise about their work.
After seeing an Instagram clip of the interview, she asked him to name her directly in the comments.
Rain challenged his understanding of digital businesses. She pointed to his earlier joke about starting an OnlyFans account and argued that creators don’t build lucrative businesses by accident.
According to Rain, her working day includes filming, editing and planning content. She communicates with fans, reviews audience data and coordinates shoots with her team.
Some days, she works from waking until bedtime. Rain maintained that a polished final video can conceal the effort behind it.

Her TikTok audience exceeds 15 million followers. On OnlyFans, she focuses on suggestive content rather than explicit adult material.
Rain rejected Davidson’s assessment of women creators’ work as a weak joke. She argued that dismissing their jobs because he does not understand them fails to account for the business behind their content.
