Norway beat Brazil 2-1 at MetLife Stadium as Erling Haaland scored twice in the last 11 minutes to send Norway into their first World Cup quarter-final.
Goalkeeper Orlan Nyland kept Norway alive with a series of saves, including a first-half penalty stop from Bruno Guimaraes.
Brazil won the penalty after Kristoffer Ajer fouled Matheus Cunha in the box. Referee Ismail Elfath awarded it after a VAR review.
Guimaraes took the spot-kick, but Nyland dived low to his left and pushed the effort away. The Norway goalkeeper later denied Gabriel Martinelli and Vinicius Junior before halftime.
Brazil again pressed after the break. Endrick missed a clear chance after Vinicius played him through, while Nyland also saved from Rayan.
Norway broke through when Andreas Schjelderup crossed from the left, and Haaland rose above Gabriel Magalhaes to head into the corner.
Haaland scored again in the 90th minute with a low strike from the edge of the box. The brace moved him level with Lionel Messi on seven goals for the tournament.

Neymar pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 10th minute of stoppage time after an elbow on Casemiro, but Brazil could not force extra time.
Brazil suffered their earliest World Cup exit since 1990. Carlo Ancelotti’s side also became the sixth straight Brazilian team to go out against European opposition.
Norway will face either co-hosts Mexico or England in Miami on July 11.
