The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new B-Form for children aged 10 and above, featuring improved security elements such as fingerprints and photographs to better safeguard against identity theft.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that these features are essential to thwarting the misuse of identity details and combating fraudulent activities such as creating illegal passports and human trafficking.
Starting January 15, NADRA will begin the phased issuance of this updated B-Form. The procedure mandates the presence of at least one parent or legal guardian and requires the child’s computerized birth certificate and the parent’s identity card. The updated B-Form, complete with a photograph, will be issued upon completing these requirements.
This enhanced B-Form is now a prerequisite for all new passport applications. Existing B-Forms lacking these new security measures will be phased out and no longer accepted.
