Pakistani athletes continue to make their country proud globally by participating in international events.
Moeed Baloch, an athlete from the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), clinched the gold medal in the 400-meter race at the World Military Games underway in Venezuela.
Moeed, 23, hails from Shanti Nagar, Karachi; Moeed is already a national champion in the 200 and 400 meters races.
Moeed Baloch, widely recognized as the “Baloch Bolt,” first gained prominence when he was declared the fastest athlete at the 2018 Asian Junior Athletics Championships after winning the 100-meter race. He has since represented Pakistan in numerous international competitions. At the Fourth World Military Cadet Games in Caracas, Venezuela, Moeed completed the 400-meter race in 48.20 seconds, proudly raising the Pakistani flag.
In 2022, Moeed secured a silver medal in the 400-meter race at a championship in Iran, where he competed against athletes from Iran, Oman, Qatar, and Iraq. He set a national record for Pakistan with a time of 46.73 seconds.
Following his victory in the 400-meter race, Moeed celebrated with a traditional dance. He continues to hold the national record for the 400-meter race.
In another remarkable achievement for Pakistan, athlete Arshad Nadeem set a world record in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024, winning a gold medal and earning the country its first Olympic gold in 40 years.
