Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, law enforcement agencies recovered a drone, weapons and suspicious items during a Mirpur raid at JAAC leader Mehran Arshad Khawaja’s house,
Security officials said the raid took place in Dadyal tehsil after reports linked suspected activities to the premises. Police detained Shahid Aslam, an employee of Mehran Arshad Khawaja, for questioning.
Authorities said the team seized a drone, a 12-bore shotgun, a pistol and a police helmet. Officials alleged the helmet had been snatched from the Islamabad Police.
Investigators said Shahid Aslam told them that two ambulances reached the residence before a sit-in protest. He said the vehicles carried equipment, weapons and ammunition to Muzaffarabad.
According to officials, the employee alleged that Mehran Arshad Khawaja took five Kalashnikov rifles, two 12-bore shotguns and a large quantity of ammunition with him. He also claimed protesters used stones, glass bottles and slingshots.

The employee said cash also moved with the supplies. He alleged that another JAAC leader, Latif Dar, provided part of the funds.
Officials said investigators were checking claims that shelling guns seized during the September 29 long march also moved through the ambulances. They also examined the allegation that about two kilograms of hashish reached the protest site.
Investigators also reviewed claims that people linked to criminal and narcotics networks joined Mehran Arshad Khawaja during protest activities.

The AJK government earlier announced a Rs10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of four wanted JAAC leaders. The official notification named Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Umar Nazir Kashmiri, Mehran Arshad Khawaja and Sardar Aman. The notification said authorities would keep the informant’s identity confidential.
