KARACHI, Sindh: The Mir Raza investigation has drawn renewed criticism from the victim’s father, who said the new police team had made no breakthrough after eight days.
Mir Hassan spoke outside City Court Karachi, where the family, lawyers and civil society representatives staged a protest. He alleged investigators had wasted or compromised key evidence during the first 12 days.
Hassan questioned whether police had traced a motorcycle, car and police mobile allegedly seen in suspicious circumstances near the crime scene. He also asked whether officers from the previous investigation team faced any action.

He said the family believed Mir Raza Ali may have faced pressure or threats before going alone to confront people linked to the case. Hassan maintained that any shots fired by his son would have been in self-defence.
The Karachi Bar Association separately demanded a transparent murder investigation and action against anyone involved. It also called for an inquiry into alleged mishandling of evidence.
