Mauritius imposed a temporary Ebola travel ban on foreign nationals who visited, transited through or stayed in DR Congo, Uganda or South Sudan in the past 21 days.
The government announced the measure Saturday after a Cabinet meeting, citing the latest Ebola virus outbreak.
Mauritian nationals and foreign nationals with valid work, residence, occupation, business or student permits can still enter the country.
However, they must complete a mandatory 21-day quarantine upon arrival if they have been in any of the three affected countries within the previous 21 days.
The Cabinet also proposed postponing the US-Africa business summit scheduled for July 26-29 in Mauritius. Authorities said they will conduct mandatory health screenings and risk assessments at points of entry.
Travellers showing symptoms linked to Ebola will face immediate isolation and clinical assessment, according to the Cabinet statement.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness will also strengthen active surveillance and contact monitoring measures.
The African Union said the outbreak in the three countries continues to pose a serious regional public-health threat.
The World Health Organisation has declared the outbreak a public health emergency of global concern.
