A shocking incident in Mathura has drawn widespread attention after an auto-rickshaw driver was bitten by a highly venomous cobra and chose to carry the snake with him to the hospital.

Instead of leaving the reptile behind, the injured man carefully secured it inside his jacket and travelled for medical treatment. A video that later surfaced on social media shows him inside the hospital displaying clear bite marks on his hand.

In the footage, the driver appears visibly distressed and angry. He expresses frustration over the delay in receiving medical care, while the captured snake remains dangerously close.

Medical experts warn that cobra venom can prove fatal without rapid treatment. Doctors stress that immediate administration of the correct antivenom is critical for survival in such cases.

Eyewitnesses said the driver kept the snake so doctors could quickly identify the species. Accurate identification, they said, can help guide treatment decisions. Despite this intention, the situation caused alarm among hospital staff and patients.

In UP's Mathura, a man arrived at a government hospital complaining of snake bite.

The incident triggered mixed reactions online. Some social media users described the act as reckless and extremely dangerous. Others said the man acted out of panic and fear, believing it would help save his life.

Health professionals strongly advise against handling snakes after a bite. They advise victims to move away from the animal and seek urgent medical help. Experts also warn that attempting to capture or transport a snake can lead to further injuries and put others at risk.

The Mathura incident has renewed calls for greater public awareness about snakebite safety and emergency response, especially in regions where venomous snakes are common.
