Lahore Traffic Police launched an innovative initiative on April 30, 2025, to enhance public service delivery and improve working conditions for traffic wardens by installing high-tech traffic kiosks at major city intersections.
The first kiosk, set up at Afshan Chowk on Mall Road, offers services like motorbike license issuance and driving license collection, bringing traffic-related facilities closer to citizens.
Chief Traffic Officer Dr. Athar Waheed emphasised that the kiosks, equipped with air conditioning, drinking water, rest areas, and loudspeaker systems for traffic announcements, aim to protect wardens from harsh weather while ensuring 24/7 service through three-shift deployments. “All traffic-related services will be accessible, making the system more citizen-friendly,” Waheed stated.

The initiative, inspired by models in developed countries, will expand to areas like Gulberg and Iqbal Town, under the supervision of SP Headquarters Mansoor-ul-Hassan and directives from Punjab’s Chief Minister.
The project reflects Lahore’s commitment to modernising traffic management and enhancing urban accessibility, with plans for gradual citywide implementation.
