Following the announcement made by PTI Chairman Imran Khan that his party will quit all assemblies. The opposition parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have called an urgent meeting to prevent the assembly dissolution.
On Saturday night, while addressing the crowd at Rehmanabad during the party’s long march, the former prime minister announced that his party had decided that they would not be a part of “this system” and would resign from all assemblies. He made this announcement. He said that he would shortly announce the specific date for resignation.
To counter the possible dissolution of the KP assembly, the KP’s opposition parties have arranged an urgent meeting at the residence of Akram Durrani, the Leader of the Opposition in the Provincial Assembly. At the conference, which will be attended by the legislative leaders of all the opposition parties, participants will examine the many alternatives available to prevent the assembly from being dissolved.
According to Durrani, a vote of no confidence against the Chief Minister of KP, Mahmood Khan, along with other possibilities, will be addressed.
Sardar Hussain Babak, a member of parliament for the Awami National Party, has stated that his party will not consent to the province administration dissolving the assembly.
Ikhtiar Wali, an MPA for the PML-N, stated that the organization would also be present at the meeting.
Wali stated, “CM Khan can’t even break an almond [shell]; how would he smash the assemblies?” when asked about Khan’s ability to break things.
The KP Assembly has the confidence of all 40 million people in the province. He stated that they would present a motion of no confidence against the CM and use the opportunity to approach a court against the matter. He also stated that they would approach a court over the matter.
