Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, launched the Digital Driving Licence system, with Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi inaugurating the paperless public-service platform, according to provincial officials.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said the system aims to streamline licence issuance and reduce delays through online service delivery.
Citizens can apply for driving licences through the Dastak mobile application and official web portal without visiting physical offices.
Officials said the platform includes AI-based facial recognition, online medical certification, QR code verification and a centralised database.
The provincial government said the system is part of its wider digital governance reform agenda, which includes e-governance, online services and digital payment systems.
The system has entered its pilot phase, during which 19,966 learner licences and 2,212 permanent licences have been issued.
