Pakistan Kissan Ittehad rejected the federal Budget 2026-27 and warned of nationwide protests if the government does not announce fertiliser and diesel subsidies by June 30.
Pakistan Kissan Ittehad Chairman Khalid Hussain Bath criticised the budget in a statement. He said Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb did not mention farmers or agriculture in his budget speech.
Bath said farmers had expected relief on five key agricultural inputs. He said the budget gave no support for fertiliser, pesticides, seeds, diesel or electricity.

He said ignoring agriculture meant ignoring Pakistan’s wider economic development. He called the omission of farmers from the budget speech “deeply regrettable.”
Bath said farmers remained committed to national development, but the federal government should facilitate them rather than increase pressure on the sector.
He warned that farmers would launch a countrywide protest movement if the government did not make a formal relief and subsidy announcement by June 30, 2026.
Bath said the current budget had left the agriculture sector abandoned and called the situation unacceptable.
