Karachi Trader Asif Kamal Found Murdered in Do Darya Area

A Karachi trader, Asif Kamal, who disappeared on January 29, was tragically found dead in the Do Darya area of the city this Sunday.

According to police reports, Asif, a merchant at Star Mobile Market in Karachi’s Saddar area, was reportedly brutally murdered.

After leaving his home in Landhi for work, Asif went missing. His family, unable to locate him after an extensive search, filed a missing person’s report. Subsequently, on February 1, a case of alleged kidnapping was registered at the Landhi police station. The police are actively investigating the details of Asif’s disappearance and the circumstances leading to his murder.

In a related context, the issue of missing children in Karachi has seen alarming trends. Since December 2024, at least 12 children have been reported missing or allegedly kidnapped across the city, with some fortunately being recovered while others remain missing.

According to a detailed report from the Karachi police, the West Zone has seen three children go missing, including Sarim, a minor from North Karachi, who was allegedly kidnapped and later found murdered. Meanwhile, another child who disappeared from Gulbahar was successfully recovered.

Six children have been reported missing in the East Zone. One of them, a two-year-old named Kaneez from Gulistan-e-Jouhar, has not yet been found. However, two children who went missing near the Super Highway and three others from Zaman Town and Shah Latif have been recovered.

The South Zone also reported three missing children, including a four-year-old from Shaheedabad, whose current location remains unknown.

The ongoing investigations and efforts to recover the missing children continue as the local authorities strive to address and mitigate this distressing issue.
