Karachi, Sindh, the proposed 5% Karachi Port tariff increase for the 2026-27 financial year has been frozen, Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar said.
Anwar said the Karachi Port tariff freeze would provide importers and exporters relief exceeding Rs500 million. He said the decision aimed to support trade and wider economic activity across Pakistan.
The minister said the move aligned with the Prime Minister’s Blue Economy vision. He said the policy sought to facilitate businesses and strengthen Pakistan’s maritime and trade sectors.

Anwar said the tariff freeze would reduce operational costs for traders and industrialists. He added that lower port-related costs would help improve the business environment.
The minister said the federal government remained committed to practical steps that promote exports, expand trade and support economic growth.
He said freezing the Karachi Port Trust tariff would help maintain stability in port costs and boost trade activity. Further incentives and facilities for the business community were also under consideration, according to his statement
