The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced the full restoration of flight operations at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, following a temporary suspension until midnight. The move, amid India-Pakistan tensions, ensures normalcy for domestic and international flights.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed that Jinnah International Airport in Karachi resumed full operations for domestic and international flights, as stated in a release cited by Geo News. “Flight operations at Karachi airport have resumed with immediate effect,” the PAA declared, after a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) temporarily suspended services until midnight. The reason for the suspension was not disclosed, though it coincided with heightened India-Pakistan tensions.

The PAA clarified that other major airports, including Lahore, Islamabad, and Sialkot, continue operations as scheduled. Per The News International, passengers were advised to coordinate with airlines for updates to avoid inconvenience.
The suspension followed India’s airstrikes on May 6 in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 31 civilians. In retaliation, Pakistan downed five Indian jets and 25 Harop drones. Earlier Thursday, Lahore, Islamabad, and Sialkot airports were closed until 6:00 PM, disrupting 57 flights.
The restoration of services is part of Pakistan’s efforts to maintain normalcy despite security alerts, including the closure of schools in Punjab until May 11.
