JI wins PK95 seat in by-poll

Lower Dir: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has won the PK-95 (Lower Dir-II) seat by-election.

According to unofficial results, JI’s candidate Izazul Mulk Afkari got 18,711 while runner up Awami National Party’s (ANP) Bahadur Khan got 16,403 votes.

The bye-election was held in the constituency after JI Ameer (chief) Sirajul Haq stepped down as member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly in the favour of a senatorial seat.

There registered voters for the 85 polling stations across the constituency is140,743. Out of a total 85 about 33 polling stations were declared sensitive.
