Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton set a new record in T20I cricket by scoring the fastest century in just 33 balls against Nepal, surpassing the previous record held by Nepal’s Kushal Malla.
Malla’s record was established with a century off 34 balls against Mongolia last year.
Loftie-Eaton achieved this milestone with 11 fours and eight sixes, culminating in a score of 101 from 36 balls, reaching his century with a four on the 33rd ball.
This feat occurred during the first T20I of the Nepal Tri-Nation series, showcasing Loftie-Eaton’s remarkable performance.
Namibia, bolstered by Loftie-Eaton’s century, scored 206/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite notable innings from Rohit Paudel, Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Sompal Kami, Nepal fell 20 runs short of the target.
Loftie-Eaton’s all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match award, having also taken two wickets.
