Talks between Islamabad authorities and Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri have failed as he has been denied permission to hold rally at Fazalhaq Road Blue Area of Islamabad on Friday.
Both Qadri and Imran Khan have been allowed to stage protest rallies at Islamabad’s Zero Point which is a route at the east end of the capital. According to sources, the marchers will not be allowed to go beyond Zero Point and the routes to all the main areas would remain sealed off by police riot and containers. Moreover, the cellular service will also remain suspended partially.
Qadri’s Inqilab March has set off from Kharian and is nearing its final destination. Angry at the country’s sinking economy, Qadri sought an answer from the government on behalf of the masses.
Reversing an earlier government decision to stop Inqilab March, Qadri was allowed to lead an anti-government protest march on the capital on August 14. Qadri had spent last week inside his home in Model Town area of Lahore after the security officials sealed off the entire locality with barbed wires and shipping containers. Qadri has vowed to topple the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by the end of this month, claiming it to be corrupt.
