Iran’s mass weddings were held in Tehran for couples who joined a state-backed “self-sacrifice” scheme during wartime tensions, Iranian media reported.
The ceremonies took place late Monday in several major squares. 110 couples joined the event at Imam Hossein Square alone, according to Mehr News Agency.
State television broadcast the weddings to boost wartime morale. The events came as U.S. President Donald Trump continued to threaten renewed military action against Iran during a fragile ceasefire.
Couples arrived at Imam Hossein Square in military jeeps with mounted machine guns, AFP images showed. A cleric then married them on a stage decorated with balloons.

The couple had signed up for the Janfada scheme, which means self-sacrifice in Persian. Iranian media said participants pledged to risk their lives in the war.
Officials said volunteers could form human chains outside power stations. Iranian authorities also claimed millions had registered for the scheme.
Senior figures had joined the campaign. They included President Masoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
