Iran fired missiles and drones at Kuwait and Bahrain on Wednesday as the United States struck Iran’s Qeshm Island, raising tensions across the Gulf.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s military said its air defences destroyed three missiles and several drones. It accused Iran of targeting civilian sites and said its forces remained on high alert.
In Kuwait, officials said Iranian missiles and drones hit Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 1. The attack injured several people and damaged airport facilities, state-run KUNA reported, citing the defence ministry.

After the attack, Kuwait’s civil aviation authority suspended all flights. It also diverted air traffic to other airports and activated an emergency plan.
Separately, US Central Command said two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart in flight. It said the US and Bahraini air defences intercepted three missiles fired at Bahrain.
However, CENTCOM said no American personnel or assets were harmed. It also denied Iranian claims that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps struck the US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain.
Earlier, the US military said it hit an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island in self-defence. CENTCOM said the strike followed attempted Iranian attacks across the Middle East.
In response, the IRGC said its attacks answered US strikes on an Iran-linked oil tanker and a site on Qeshm Island. It warned that any further aggression would bring a stronger response.

At the same time, Iranian media said Tehran and Washington remained in contact. US President Donald Trump also said negotiations had continued in recent days.
