ISLAMABAD: The Imran Khan hospital transfer contempt plea was refiled Tuesday after the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office returned it over a procedural objection, according to PTI officials.
The office objected because the petition lacked a list of allegations against the respondents. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) later addressed the issue and resubmitted the petition.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said the party also requested an early hearing. He urged the Supreme Court to form a bench so the matter could be heard on Thursday.
Dr Uzma Khan filed the contempt petition on August 22. She alleged that authorities violated the Supreme Court’s August 18 order concerning her brother’s medical examination.

The court had directed authorities to transfer former prime minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. Independent reporting also confirms that order.
Authorities instead took Khan to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said doctors from Shifa International Hospital were also present there.
The federal government defended the move on security grounds. Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said the administration made the decision because Khan’s security remained the priority.

PTI argues that taking Khan to PIMS breached the Supreme Court order. The party has also sought implementation of court-directed family meetings.
