PTI Chairman Imran Khan is set to appear before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in connection with the Al-Qadir Trust case following the Supreme Court’s declaration that his arrest at the IHC was “invalid and unlawful.”
Imran was taken into custody by paramilitary forces on Tuesday over allegations of illegally obtaining funds and land from Bahria Town, leading to nationwide protests.
After the IHC upheld his arrest as legal, Imran appealed to the Supreme Court. As Imran prepares to appear in court, strict security measures are in place.
The PTI has called for peaceful supporters to gather at Srinagar Highway in Islamabad’s G-13 to show solidarity with the former premier. Imran is expected to make a speech following his court appearance.
However, Islamabad police have reminded the public that Section 144, which prohibits public gatherings, remains in effect in the capital, urging political workers not to obstruct the legal process. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has stated that authorities will arrest Imran again if necessary, waiting for bail cancellation if needed.
