Islamabad’s Capital Development Authority has published a list of 98 illegal housing schemes on its official website to warn citizens against property fraud.
The authority urged buyers to verify the legal status of housing and agro-farming projects before making financial commitments.
The CDA said the listed schemes had not obtained the required No Objection Certificates and approvals.
The authority said the projects, therefore, had no legal standing in Islamabad. The CDA also issued a list of fake housing projects for public awareness.
Officials said the CDA Ordinance 1960, the ICT Zoning Regulations 1992, and the revised rules for private housing schemes empower the authority to regulate housing and farm-housing development.
The authority said private housing developers must first secure approval of layout plans. Developers must then obtain a No Objection Certificate after fulfilling regulatory requirements.
The CDA said development work and plot sales can begin only after completion of the two-stage approval process.
