Clearwater police said the cause of Hulk Hogan’s death was natural, closing their investigation into the July 2025 death of the wrestling star born Terry Bollea.
The Clearwater Police Department released its final report Friday. It said a private autopsy found Hogan died “exclusively from compelling natural disease.”
Police said investigators found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing. The report also ruled out reasonable traumatic or toxicological causes.
Clearwater authorities previously said officers responded to a cardiac arrest call at Hogan’s home at 9:51 a.m. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead at 11:17 a.m.
In the 911 call, his wife, Sky Daily Hogan, told dispatchers that her husband did not appear to be breathing.
Home health aide Dana Swinton said she, Sky Daily Hogan and occupational therapist Justin McCamey were at the home when Hogan stopped breathing.

The report said they attempted CPR before firefighters arrived. McCamey told police that Hogan’s health had been poor after surgery.
Sky Daily Hogan told police her husband had neck spinal fusion surgery about six weeks before his death. She also said he had undergone a heart operation and had chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Hogan was 71. He became one of professional wrestling’s biggest stars and helped bring the sport into mainstream US entertainment.
