The Israel Defence Forces confirmed for the first time that Hezbollah is using night-vision drones, Israeli military correspondents reported.
The IDF said the threat involves unmanned aerial vehicles fitted with night-vision devices. It described the tactic as part of a fast-changing battlefield challenge.
Israeli military correspondents said investigations are underway. They said the army is developing and deploying new methods to counter the threat.
The IDF described the systems as cheap and accessible. It said Hezbollah can modify them quickly, making battlefield adaptation harder to track.

Israeli reports have linked the trend to first-person-view drones used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
The Jerusalem Post, citing KAN News, reported in May that one such drone used night-vision or thermal equipment in a strike that wounded two Israeli soldiers.
The IDF said it is studying the trend and applying field lessons to new countermeasures. It did not disclose the systems under development.
