The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has charged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Gulfam Hussain with issuing violent threats and stalking members of the Sharif family in London.
Gulfam Hussain was arrested four days ago for breaching bail conditions by approaching the Sharif family’s Avenfield flats. Hussain faces charges of violence, stalking, and harassment. He is in police custody and will appear in court within the next two days, as confirmed on April 17, 2025.
Hussain’s legal troubles began in January 2025, when he was arrested for threatening to harm former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other family members. During a TikTok live broadcast, Hussain threatened to “blow up” the Sharif family’s Park Lane flats and “drag” family members through London streets. Scotland Yard released him on bail but barred him from approaching the Avenfield flats, where the Sharifs reside.

On April 13, 2025, Hussain violated these conditions by approaching the flats during Nawaz Sharif’s visit to London, leading to his rearrest. The CPS has now formally charged him, with evidence provided by Khurram Butt, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) UK Youth Wing. Butt, who recently petitioned Oxford University against PTI founder Imran Khan’s chancellor candidacy, submitted a detailed trail of Hussain’s threatening TikTok videos and actions.
Butt stated, “The CPS has confirmed charges of violence, stalking, and harassment against Hussain. This sends a clear message: those involved in violence will face justice.”
From PML-N Supporter to PTI Activist
Hussain’s shift in allegiance adds complexity to the case. Until late 2024, he was a staunch PML-N supporter, often clashing with PTI activists outside the Avenfield flats. After joining PTI, he became a vocal social media figure, quitting his job as a trained chef to focus on daily TikTok live broadcasts. His content grew increasingly aggressive, particularly after Imran Khan’s conviction in a £190 million case, which Hussain cited as a trigger for his actions.
In a statement following his January arrest, Hussain claimed his TikTok threats were “political statements” and denied believing in violence. He admitted to police seizing four mobile phones for investigation and said he acted to “prove his loyalty” to PTI supporters. Despite his bail conditions, Hussain’s recent breach has escalated the consequences.
