Eidul Adha 2026 Pakistan is likely to be observed on Wednesday, May 27. However, this depends on the Dhu al-Hijjah moon being sighted on May 17, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council said.
Khalid Ijaz Mufti, Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, said scientific data showed a strong possibility of Eidul Adha 2026 being observed on May 27 in Pakistan.
The council said the new moon of Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH will be born at 1:15 am Pakistan time. This will happen on the night between May 16 and 17, when Eidul Adha 2026 Pakistan preparations will begin.
By sunset on May 17, the moon’s age is expected to exceed 18 hours in most parts of Pakistan. The council said this would be sufficient for naked-eye visibility if weather conditions remain clear.
The report said the gap between sunset and moonset on May 17 would be about 55 minutes in Karachi, Sindh. Meanwhile, in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the gap will be up to 63 minutes. Notably, these timings are relevant for Eidul Adha 2026 Pakistan moon sighting activities.
If the moon is sighted on Sunday evening, May 17, the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah will fall on May 18. As a result, Eidul Adha will be observed on May 27.
The council said there was also a possibility that Eidul Adha may be observed on the same day in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia this year.

If clouds prevent moon sighting on May 17, Dhu al-Qi’dah will complete 30 days. In that case, Eidul Adha will fall on Thursday, May 28, according to the forecast. In summary, Eidul Adha 2026 Pakistan celebrations are dependent on moon visibility.
The final announcement will be made after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s official meeting.
